J.C. Newman Cigar Company’s long history dates back more than a century to 1895, when Julius Caeser Newman rolled his first cigars in the family barn in Cleveland, Ohio. From its humble beginnings as a one-man cigar factory, the fourth generation company now is a living historic landmark in Tampa, Florida’s Ybor City.
Bayshore Solutions worked in collaboration with the J.C. Newman Cigar Company team to craft the brand stories and campaigns to resonate with the target audiences, and create three very distinct websites for the Diamond Crown, Brick House and Perla del Mar brands of cigars.
Each of the three websites is unique in its presentation and personality. Diamond Crown reflects the distinguished and refined tastes of an experienced cigar smoker. The Diamond Crown premium brand site is informational and educational. The Brick House site capitalizes on the “$5 and a Comfortable Chair” philosophy of enjoying a great cigar while focusing on the cigar smoker lifestyle; it is an affordable luxury and well-deserved treat. For the younger, less experienced cigar smoker, the Perla del Mar site takes more of a social approach, capitalizing on the cigar smoking experience to attract an aspirational aficionado.
For consumers new to J.C. Newman cigar brands each website features a cigar selector. Bayshore Solutions designed this custom interactive tool to channel the right target audience to the right cigar.
Our work for J.C. Newman Cigar Company resulted in a unique and channeled user experience to generate enthusiasm, awareness and demand for all three brands. Each brand is consistently executed across a variety of social media. Engagement has increased exponentially through an orchestrated strategy using social media contests and unique content that is updated weekly.
