Challenge

The main issue Apartment Hunters faced was a slow web site caused by increased traffic on an aging system. The system was written using a PHP front-end and Filemaker Pro for a data store. This caused incredible delays when users accessed the system, including load times of five to 10 seconds on some pages.

Solution

By considering the existing structure, Bayshore Solutions determined a solution by reviewing the requirements and expectations provided and expected by Apartment Hunters. We then built Apartment Hunters a new web site using a Microsoft ASP.NET front-end and a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for data store. Bayshore Solutions eventually developed a data migration strategy to import Apartment Hunters’ existing client base and apartment listings, which consisted of more than 100,000 rows, into the new system.
