About Metropolitan Ministries http://www.MetroMin.org Metropolitan Ministries is a non-profit, nondenominational, faith based organization that provides answers for poor and homeless families. Founded in 1972 by 13 downtown Tampa Churches, this community supported ministry has earned the trust and support of charitable individuals, volunteers, businesses, churches, synagogues, civic organizations, schools and collaborative partners, and does not depend on government funding. Today, Metropolitan Ministries offers a wide spectrum of supportive services and is becoming known beyond the Tampa Bay community as one of America’s most effective and innovative caregivers.

Challenge

Metropolitan Ministries wanted to give their Web site an updated look with improved features to support their mission to help serve poor and homeless men, women, and children in the Tampa Bay region. More tools were needed to assist outreach initiatives and further communication. Creating a streamlined process was needed for registration, online donations and client requests

Solution

The finished web site:  

• Provided new cyber channels for volunteers to sign-up and donate their time during the busy holiday season
• Allowed for instant RSVPs to events
• Displayed immediate community needs
• Provided a safe venue for donations and event registrations to be made
• Added visual appeal—images of people the organization has helped
• Provided integration of Bayshore Solutions’ EmailManager software which helps Metropolitan Ministries solicit donations and makes volunteers aware
