Challenge
Reeves Import Motorcars wanted to provide their customers with the most convenient and easy car shopping possible. Their vision was to enhance their existing Web presence to provide a robust but easy-to-use Web site to showcase their lines of new automobiles, as well as their premium pre-owned offerings.
The first challenge was how to successfully integrate the various brands offered by Reeves in a manner that was cohesive, yet highlighted each brand predominantly. Additionally, Reeves wanted to pay special attention to customers seeking pre-owned vehicles as well.
Solution
The first order of business was to create a sleek Web site design that encompassed all the brands offered by Reeves.“We were looking for a company to team-up with our agency and ourselves to develop and implement a comprehensive Internet strategy,” said Kelly Rogers, General Manager for Reeves Import Motorcars. In the new design, web site visitors can browse through all eight brands of vehicles offered by Reeves, perform research and even build their dream car, based on their own option preferences.
In order to effectively update the ongoing rotation of inventory and changes to new models of vehicles, Bayshore Solutions implemented their content management system. In addition, Bayshore Solutions assumed responsibilities for hosting of the Reeves Web site and to drive and build traffic to their Web site through search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.
Results
From a design perspective, Reeves Import Motorcars views the relationship with Bayshore Solutions as a success. The end result is a world-class, content-managed Web site. “The team at Bayshore provided us with timely service and the knowledgeable people to get the job done,” said Rogers. “We’re very pleased with the design and usability of the site, and the content management system has proven to be very effective.”
The SEO efforts have also proven to be very successful in a short period of time. In the summer of 2007, for example, Reeves had 360 key terms in the top three pages of the three most popular search engines, Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Just four months later, they had nearly 1,200 key terms in those same pages, a dramatic increase of more than 300 percent. Based on this success, Reeves is moving forward with additional optimization and ad spending.
Perhaps the biggest measure of success, however, is the number of sales being generated from the site. “We’re impressed with our sales performance from the site,” added Rogers. “Since the redesign and SEO efforts, we’re seeing the highest number of Internet sales ever, averaging 65 to 75 units per month. It’s really quite remarkable.”
